ATTICA -- Mark Maddux 86, widely known farmer, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday in the Community Hospital at Williamsport. Mr. Maddux also operated the Attica Stockyards until his retirement from business 15 years ago. He was born Sept. 13, 1879, at Philo, Ill. He was married to Jennie VanCleave, who survives. He belonged to the Wingate Masonic Lodge. Other survivors include a grandson, Richard Maddux of Wingate, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at DeSutter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Louis Haskell in charge. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
